Excellent German School Abroad

GESS is not only officially recognised by the German Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA) and authorised to deliver the German national curriculum, leading to all major German school leaving certificates, but has also received a special award as "Excellent German School Abroad" in 2009 for its German education. This award was renewed in December 2021 and guarantees the recognition of our school leaving certificates by the German government and opens doors for our students to get admitted into the German university of their choice.

As commissioned by the German Foreign Office, the Central Agency for German Schools (CAGS) supports the German European School Singapore (GESS) in terms of financial, personnel and education resources. In addition, CAGS helps to promote quality-oriented advancement of the school through professional advisory and support services.

IB World School

Since the start of the IB Curriculum stream in 2005, the school has become a fully accredited IB World School offering the entire range of the International Baccalaureate programmes (PYP, MYP, DP). Our students have repeatedly received IB scores above world average, and this speaks for the quality and consistency of GESS's multi-faceted education. External reviews positively reinforce our work.

Council of International Schools

Since 2013, GESS has been accredited by the Council of International Schools. This CIS accreditation and membership shows GESS's ongoing commitment to high quality international education. Such recognition enables GESS graduates to successfully apply to universities worldwide with our high school diploma.

PASCH School

In 2010, the German Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA), together with the Goethe-Institut and the German representation in Singapore, accepted GESS into the network of PASCH - schools. This authorises the school to award the German Language Certificate l and ll of the Education Ministers Conference (DSD). The PASCH - initiative's goal is to strengthen and internationally grow the network of German schools abroad as well as schools which offer the German Language Certificate.

Furthermore, sparking interest in modern day Germany and smoothing the way for international study groups, with open exchange of ideas are desired outcomes. Every year, the school offers students from the IB Curriculum stream the opportunity to get their foreign language skills in German certified through the official German Language Certificate of the Education Ministers Conference.
